On Wednesday morning, Ms. Norah Peck, Bergen County Superintendent and Ms. Sharon Rosario a Bergen County Educational Specialist went to visit our BASCS High School. Mr.Guvercin, Dr. Demir, Mr. Hyseni, and two senior students Meisa D., and Nia A. welcomed and greeted them. We gave them a tour of our school, with visits to Mr. Bakan’s class, where they learned how our students are using iPad’s in all content areas. Mr. Bakan explained to them the role of the Schoology and the benefits for teachers, students and parents. Our senior student Geroge K. did a presentation on how our students do homework and benefits of iPads one to one education. Our next stop was Mr. Nesheiwat’s Biology class, followed by Mr. DelRussos’s English class.
After a small tour, our guests had a meeting with Students In Action members. Mr Guvercin elaborated in general the role and importance of this student organization, while our students Zoe Z., Jewel B., Nikita T. and Suad P. explained to our guests what they have done in the past to help families, community and international students. They discussed the trip to Kenya, helping families during the Thanksgiving Day of Sharing, including the upcoming activity 5K run which will take place in March 2015.
