Paterson Arts & Science Charter School

The Wildcats’ Garden

The Wildcats’ Garden is a project for all of the 5th Grade students. Mr. Wang, Mr. DiIorio, and the students will be cultivating this garden to contain: Sunflowers, Bell Peppers, Strawberries, Tomatoes, String Beans, and Banana Peppers. The students will see how math and science can be tied into the world of gardening and see how their work will prosper into a beautiful jungle of plants. This garden will be taken care by the students and when the time comes, the students will pick out the vegetables and fruits to sell. We will be having our own “Farmer’s Market” in one of the bodegas or food markets allowing the students to see how their hard work pays off and can help the community as well by selling cheap local homegrown food.
