Dorothy Gale, a young girl living on a Kansas farm with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry, dreams of escaping her mundane life. When a cyclone hits, Dorothy and her dog Toto are transported to the Land of Oz. There, Dorothy is greeted by Glinda and the Munchkins who celebrate and hail Dorothy as their new heroine for freeing them of the Wicked Witch of the East. The Wicked Witch of the West appears wanting vengeance for her sister’s death. Dorothy, seeking a way back home to Kansas, sets off to find the Wizard of Oz. Along the way, Dorothy meets three new friends: Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion. The four new companions make their way towards Oz and together they face the wrath of the Wicked Witch of the West.
Based on the 1900 book by L. Frank Baum “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and the 1939 film of the same name starring Judy Garland, The Wizard of Oz Young Performers’ Edition is a classic tale that reminds audiences of the joy and healing power of home.
