Paterson Arts & Science Charter School

Jersey Tastes, Lettuce

Paterson Arts and Science Charter School and the students of the Garden Club, under the leadership of Dr. LaPaglia,  are excited to announce our second delicious event as it highlights Jersey Fresh Produce in our school, Friday, March 16, 2018.

In collaboration with Maschio’s Food Services and the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, we will be featuring a delicious sampling of this month’s Jersey Tastes, Lettuce. With a variety of healthy greens, the Spring Mix Salad tasting will introduce students to the nutritional benefits of lettuce and an assortment of ways to enjoy this wonderful veggie! Students will have an opportunity to exchange thoughts, ask questions, and have fun experiencing something new!  We are very thankful for this partnership and look forward to continued events where Food is the Focus and Learning is the Leader!

• Christopher Columbus brought lettuce to the new world.
• Local farmers usually harvest lettuce in the morning and then submerge it into ice cold water.
