You can choose the best public education for your child!

There are NO entrance exams, interviews, costs, or special requirements.

iLearn Schools DOES NOT discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, or national origin. Students who are English language learners or who require special education services are encouraged to apply.

Things to know before applying:

You must be a resident of New York State to apply to The Bronx ASCS.

Non-Discrimination Statement: A charter school shall not discriminate against or limit the admission of any student on any unlawful basis, including on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion or ancestry. A school may not require any action by a student or family (such as an admissions test, interview, essay, attendance at an information session, etc.) in order for an applicant to either receive or submit an application for admission to that school.

Only one application per student will be accepted.

Any duplicate application will be removed prior to the lottery.

If you are applying for more than one student (siblings)...

Please complete a separate application for each child. You must receive a confirmation email for each student's application to ensure each student will be entered into the lottery.

Checking your application status:

You may log in anytime to view and check the status of your application.

Lottery Preferences for The Bronx ASCS:

New York State law requires that children must have turned 5-years-old by December 31st of the year they are admitted to kindergarten

You must submit an application by April 1st, 2020 for your child to be included in Bronx ASCS lottery for the 2020-2021 academic year.

A public charter school lottery determines the order in which students are granted admission into The Bronx ASCS. Once all available spaces are filled, names are drawn to determine the order of the waitlist. Students will be admitted from the waitlist as spaces become available.

New York State law requires that we offer the following admission preference to applicants of Bronx ASCS in the following manner:
1 - Returning students
2 - Students of siblings
3 - Staff preference (maximum 15%)
4 - Students who live within CSD 8
5 - Students who live outside of CSD 8

WEIGHTED LOTTERY
NYSED Weighted Lottery Generator is designed to give slightly better chances for admission to a subset of educationally disadvantaged students. Bronx ASCS will use a weighted lottery for English Language Learners (ELLs) and Multilingual Learners (MLLs). This gives additional weight to ELL and MLL students but does not reserve or set aside seats for students in the preference category.
