Kindle Program

ELA Instruction with Kindles

iLearn Schools has made the decision to move to the use of Kindles to allow for the tailored approach of ELA instruction to meet the needs of each student. Kindles allow for numbered pages, table of contents, pictures and graphics, exactly like a printed book.

On the 2015/2016 supply list, the purchase of the Amazon’s base model KINDLE e-Reader is included for students in grades 4-8. This specific e-reader is a base model, uses e-ink technology to replicate the appearance of printed ink on paper without backlighting, glare, or eye strain.

iLearn Schools purchased the required books that have been pre-selected by ELA department. All students are provided instruction on how to access the books by their teachers. Our goal is to build grade level libraries that will include a wide array of books on various genres. iLearn Schools also welcomes any fundraising ideas that you may have to help build the student library. If there is a family or an organization who would like to make a donation to a classroom book purchase, please let us know how we can make this happen. Donors names will be published on this website and the books will be known with their names forever.
